On the N-322 highway at kilometer marker 168 near Úbeda, their Seat Alhambra was involved in a devastating frontolateral collision with a Mercedes Sprinter van. All four members were critically injured. Pope, who had been driving, suffered severe trauma. Juanca, the drummer, spent 47 days in a coma and an induced coma, believing he had merely gotten out of hand at his bachelor party when he finally awoke. Jaime faced over 40 operations to save his leg, battling a deep depression. And Chino, the lead singer, suffered the most severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury that required immediate surgery.
