Etap | Version 22
While version 21.0 set a strong foundation with its integrated analysis modules and early Arc Flash features based on Australian standards, ETAP 22 represented a major generational leap. The newer version added entirely new classes of analysis (Flicker, Lightning Risk, Grid Code compliance), dramatically expanded safety standards (IEC, German DGUV), and introduced the eLabelMaker. It also offered a more polished user interface and a greater emphasis on automation and renewable energy, making it a much more comprehensive tool for engineers dealing with the modern, decarbonized grid.
Full integration of IEC 60909-0 (2016) and ANSI/IEEE C37 standards for inverter-based resources. etap version 22
Improved APIs and Python integration allow for advanced automation of study cases. ETAP 22: Bridging Design and Operation While version 21
More precise modeling of complex switchgear boxes to avoid over-engineering protective gear. Short Circuit & Load Flow Full integration of IEC 60909-0 (2016) and ANSI/IEEE
The automated overcurrent protection coordination engine features intelligent rule-based evaluation. ETAP 22 evaluates thousands of protective relays, circuit breakers, and fuses simultaneously, generating optimized time-current characteristic (TCC) curves. This significantly eliminates manual trial-and-error adjustment cycles. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Compatibility
Enhanced multi-layer graphical user interface (GUI) supports the import of complex GIS mapping data and BIM models.
