The dreaded workflow interruption of having to switch from a section or elevation back to a floor plan just to place a window is a thing of the past. Archicad 29 now allows you to place openings, including doors and windows, directly in sections, elevations, and interior elevations. Even more impressive is that the openings will follow the exact orientation of the target surface, even if it is not parallel to the cutting plane. This newfound capability makes modeling on sloped or complex walls far more intuitive and precise.
While the new MEP tools are powerful, the licensing model has changed. The MEP toolset is no longer included in the Studio (solo) subscription plan and is now exclusively available to users on the Collaborate plan. If you are a solo practitioner or small firm upgrading from Archicad 28 with a Studio license, you will lose access to MEP functionality and will need to upgrade your subscription plan.
