When Les Intouchables premiered in 2011, few predicted it would become the second-highest-grossing French film of all time. Directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, the film tells the unlikely true story of Philippe, a wealthy quadriplegic, and Driss, a young ex-con from the projects who becomes his live-in caregiver.

This classic comedy dynamic is what makes Intouchables so effective. This very scene was adapted for the 2017 English-language remake, The Upside , showing its universal and timeless appeal.
